ADAM LEWINSON NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, PROGRAMMING, MARKETING & OPERATIONS FOR CRACKLE


CULVER CITY, CA, October 15, 2015 – Adam Lewinson has been named senior vice president of programming, marketing and operations for Crackle, it was announced today by Eric Berger, executive vice president of Digital Networks for Sony Pictures Television (SPT) and general manager of Crackle, to whom he will report.
 
As head of programming, Lewinson will oversee the acquisition and scheduling of content for Crackle, as well as partner with the development team in the creation of original series. As head of marketing, he will lead brand management, strategic partnerships, customer acquisition and retention, as well as the launch strategy for Crackle’s originals. In addition, Lewinson will partner with Crackle’s ad sales team on content monetization, as well as work closely with the product and technology teams to enhance the consumer experience across the streaming network.

Previously, Lewinson spent more than a decade at FX Networks, most recently as senior vice president of programming and production, where he spearheaded the launch of FXM (formerly Fox Movie Channel) and oversaw the channel’s programming portfolio. Over the course of his career at FX Networks, he was responsible for the development and production of a number of notable programs including the Sons of Anarchy companion series Anarchy Afterword, 10/90 sitcom Partners, the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, talk shows Fox Legacy with Tom Rothman and Life After Film School, as well as Writer’s Draft, which garnered Fox Movie Channel its first-ever Emmy Award nomination and win. 
 
Prior to that, Lewinson served as vice president of studio entertainment at Lifetime, overseeing a task force for the emerging Lifetime Movie Network and developing brand extensions including Lifetime Home Entertainment.  He also oversaw studio partnerships, developed Lifetime’s branded entertainment strategy and produced programming events and short-form series.
 
Crackle marks Lewinson’s return to Sony Pictures, having previously held positions at Columbia Pictures and Columbia TriStar Home Video, where he developed programming events for networks based on the studio’s film and TV properties.  
 
An award-winning producer whose credits include the 2015 Emmy for Outstanding Short-Format Nonfiction Program for FX’s A Tribute to Mel Brooks, Lewinson holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in English and Film from Vassar College and a Master of Fine Arts degree from The American Film Institute.
