MARK JOCSON NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, DIGITAL MEDIA AND GAMES, NETWORKS, SONY PICTURES TELEVISION


CULVER CITY, CA, April 1, 2015 -- Mark Jocson has been promoted to senior vice president of Digital Media and Games, Networks at Sony Pictures Television (SPT), it was announced today by Eric Berger, executive vice president of Digital Networks for SPT, to whom he will continue to report.
   
In this role, Jocson will continue to lead digital product and platform initiatives for SPT’s networks worldwide. He will also oversee SPT’s Games division, a top mobile game publishing studio with titles such as Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. 
 
“Mark has been instrumental in unifying the digital presence of our nearly 100 channels around the world and has created innovative brand and channel extension opportunities,” said Berger. “As we evolve our business into a world where TV Everywhere and direct-to-consumer services are ubiquitous, I know Mark will be an exemplary thought leader and executer.”
 
Jocson, who joined SPT in 2009, previously held the position of vice president of Digital Media, Networks for SPT. In that role, he was responsible for a number of highly successful digital initiatives for SPT networks around the globe, including the award-winning Hannibal second screen app for AXN channels worldwide, an SVOD service for anime channel Animax in the UK, as well as over-the-top platforms for Canal Sony in Latin America and Korean entertainment channel ONE in Singapore. 
 
Prior to SPT, until 2009, Jocson was director of Digital Media for Disney Channels Worldwide, where under his leadership the network launched its first ever full-length episode streaming service and subsequently earned the 2008 Primetime Emmy® Award for Outstanding Interactive Media Programming – Non Fiction for its Disney Channel Games Digital Media Event.  Jocson joined The Walt Disney Company in 1999, where he held positions at Disney Online and later Radio Disney. 
 
Jocson is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. He is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts degree from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts.
