STELLIFY SECURES BBC ONE COMMISSION FOR CAN'T TOUCH THIS (W/T)


London, 12 March 2015 – Northern Irish production company Stellify Media has secured a major new commission from BBC One for Saturday night action game show Can’t Touch This (w/t) – less than a year since the company launched in the spring of 2014. 
 
The premise of the show is simple - if you touch the prize, you win it. Contestants have to negotiate a larger than life assault course while simultaneously battling it out to touch the prizes along the way.
 
Can’t Touch This (w/t) is an original Stellify format and was ordered by Controller BBC One, Charlotte Moore, Controller of BBC Entertainment Commissioning, Mark Linsey, and BBC entertainment commissioner Alan Tyler. The 10-part series is set to air in 2016. It will be executive produced by Stellify joint managing directors Kieran Doherty and Matthew Worthy. 
 
Kieran Doherty said: “To secure this major commission only a few months after launching is a huge vote of confidence from the BBC. This is probably the biggest entertainment commission to come out of our part of the world and we’re grateful for the amazing support we have had, both from the BBC Entertainment team and everyone at NI Screen.” 
 
The BBC’s Alan Tyler said: “We are delighted that Stellify brought this ambitious format to us. Matt and Kieran are exciting creatives and have developed a show that is both funny and gripping. We look forward to bringing it to the BBC One audience.”

Belfast-based Stellify is focused on producing and developing original entertainment programming for both UK and international broadcasters. Doherty and Worthy have an impressive track record in creating international quiz and game show formats, including Secret Fortune (BBC One) and Take The Money and Run (ABC US). Stellify is also currently in production with Blind Date (w/t) for national Irish broadcaster TV3, which is set to air later this year.
