London, 2 October 2014. Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has licensed 344 episodes of the multi-Emmy Award winning US talk show The Dr. Oz Show to broadcaster FARSI1 – SPT’s first ever deal with a Farsi-language broadcaster.  
The deal with Broadcast Middle East - part of the MOBY GROUP, who’s serving over 300 million people from Central Asia to North Africa – covers the first two seasons of the ratings winner and will be shown on free to air pan-regional network FARSI1, dubbed into Farsi, from this autumn. 
Announcing the deal, Damian Newton, senior vice president, distribution, CE & MEGITC at SPT said: “The Dr. Oz Show is a global sensation that continues to strike a chord with audiences around the world, tapping into the universal desire to lead healthier, happier lives.”

The Dr. Oz Show, now in its sixth season in the US, is a talk show hosted by acclaimed surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz focussing on health, wellbeing and lifestyle issues. Co-produced by SPT and Harpo Productions, the series first debuted in the US in 2009 as the highest rating daytime premiere in seven years and has since been sold by SPT to over 118 territories around the world. 
Most recent deals include Discovery in the UK, Mediaset in Spain and RTB in Brunei. Local versions of the hit format have also been produced in China, Russia, India, Brazil, Armenia, Chile, Peru, Columbia and the Middle East.
