GOGGLEBOX ENTERTAINMENT SECURES ORDER FROM SUN ONLINE

KSI, Louie Spence, Katie Hopkins take on oldest challenge known to Man

London, 22 September 2014. Gogglebox Entertainment has secured a 15 episode order for Man vs Fly from The Sun, the UK’s biggest newspaper, to be shown exclusively online.

Man vs Fly shows the epic battle between MAN and FLY. Since Homo sapiens first stood upright, its history has been determined by the battle of irritation against the common fly. Now, the world's most popular participation sport - fly swatting - is coming to UK computer and mobile screens.

The rules of the game are simple: one man or woman; one fly; one padded cell, one minute to kill, with the winner taking home big prize money.

Each episode is three minutes long and legendary 1980s Australian World Competitive Fly Swatting Champion, Pat Cowell, will provide expert commentary and analysis as professional fly swatters, amateur punters and celebrities – including KSI, Louie Spence, Katie Hopkins and David McIntosh - take on the oldest challenge known to Man.

Fly swatting techniques vary.  Viewers can cheer or despair as a karate expert aims for the ultimate chop, a knight in armour flourishes his sword, or as a mobility scooter aims to mow down a plucky fly. There can only be one winner in the Fly Dome – it’s either MAN or FLY.

Mat Steiner, joint managing director of Gogglebox Entertainment, said:  “Man vs Fly is an exciting new entertainment format and it’s fantastic to partner with The Sun for its premiere launch in the UK. We want to create compelling content across all platforms, and this is the first deal of hopefully many more to come.”

David Robinson, sales and marketing director for The Sun, said “Man v Fly is great, fun, irreverent content that is sure to capture the imagination of The Sun audience. The short, punchy video series stars a selection of Sun regulars (and Kellie Maloney), and we're delighted with the final product, delivered by a superb team at Googlebox.”

The first episode, featuring Katie Hopkins, will be available on www.thesun.co.uk on October 2.  Viewers can sign up to a month’s free trial of Sun+ to watch.

Man vs Fly is executive produced by Mat Steiner, Adam Wood and Sam Pollard, and directed by James Abadi. Gogglebox Entertainment is a joint venture with Sony Pictures Television.
