THE DR. OZ SHOW FORMATS PRESCRIBED FOR EUROPE AND ASIA


Sony Pictures Television’s Popular Health Magazine Talk Show Format Also Renewed In Four Territories Around the Globe


 LONDON and HONG KONG – Sony Pictures Television (SPT) announced that it has concluded two deals that will bring the popular health-focused, multi-topic magazine talk show format The Dr. Oz Show to new territories in Europe and Asia.
 
In the Czech Republic, FTA broadcaster Czech TV will produce 15 episodes of the one-hour series, titled DoktorKa, which will be hosted by physician and TV personality Dr. Kate?ina Cajthamlová. In Thailand, TrueVisions will produce at least 60 episodes of the one-hour series to air daily in primetime on True Explore 3 and also later this year on a new DTT channel called True 4 U.
 
The format has also been renewed for additional seasons in four territories across three continents. In Asia, TRANS TV has ordered a second season of Dr. Oz Indonesia featuring medical expert Dr. Ryan Thamrin. In Europe, TV3 in Lithuania has given a second season order to Kvieskite Daktar?! (Call A Doctor!), while Kanal 2 in Estonia has given a second season order to Tohter Olaf (Doctor Olaf). In Latin America, América Televisión in Peru gave a third season order earlier this year to Dr. TV, the daily talk show hosted by local physician and surgeon Dr. Tomás Borda Noriega.

The format has been licensed across five continents around the world and in places like Russia, China, Brazil and the Middle East.
