MEREDITH CHAMBERS JOINS FORCES WITH KARL WARNER AT ELECTRIC RAY
London, UK (Monday 28th April, 2014) — BAFTA winning media exec Meredith Chambers has joined forces with Karl Warner to share Managing Director duties at their new indie Electric Ray.
Chambers has joined Electric Ray, a joint venture with Sony Pictures Television, to oversee, alongside Warner, the company’s development slate and creative strategy. Chambers will also focus on producing popular factual content while Warner leads the company’s entertainment drive.
Announcing the appointment, Karl Warner said: “Our plan has always been to bring the best of factual and entertainment together. We’ve been working towards this for ages and at last Meredith and I will be in the same place at the same time.”
Meredith Chambers added: “Karl’s an exciting creative and great fun to be around – I can’t wait to get started with him. With support from the team at Sony Pictures Television I hope that we can combine our reputations for producing innovative shows and build a successful slate for the UK and international broadcasters.”
Chambers joins Electric Ray from Shed Media owned indie Twenty Twenty, where as Creative Director he oversaw the company’s broad range of output, including First Dates (C4), Life Savers (BBC) and The Hoarder Next Door (C4).
Chambers was previously Commissioning Editor, Documentaries at Channel 4 where he commissioned international format hit The Secret Millionaire, doc series The Hospital, and doc strand Cutting Edge. He has also worked as Executive Editor, Factual and Music, BBC Wales.
Warner and Sony Pictures Television launched Electric Ray in January this year to produce standout fact ent event programming and prime-time family entertainment shows for UK and international broadcasters.
