Production Has Begun On 80-Episode Teleseries In Cali, Colombia

MIAMI, FL and BOGATÁ, COLOMBIA (January 27, 2014) — Sony Pictures Television (SPT) and Teleset have announced that they will produce the original scripted series “En la Boca del Lobo” for the Latin American market. The 80-episode, one-hour teleseries is being shot completely on location in and around Cali, Colombia. It has been sold to RCN in Colombia and is being sold across the Latin American and U.S. Hispanic markets.

Based on the non-fiction thriller At the Devil's Table: The Untold Story of the Insider Who Brought Down the Cali Cartel by award-winning investigative reporter William C. Rempel, “En la Boca del Lobo” follows the series of events that ultimately lead to the dramatic downfall of Colombia’s infamous Cali drug cartel. The story centers on Ricardo Salgado, an engineer and soldier who rises to become head of security for the godfather of the Cali cartel, one of the world’s largest crime organizations, and is later driven to mastermind its undoing.

“En la Boca del Lobo” stars Luis Fernando Hoyos (“Graduados,” “Rosario Tijeras”) as Ricardo Salgado, Carolina Acevedo (“Comando Elite,” “Los Caballeros las prefieren Brutas”) as Lena, Lucho Velasco (“La Viuda Negra,” “Metástasis”) as Manuel, Julian Mora (“Rosario Tijeras”) as Wilson, Isabel Gaona (“Noches Desveladas”) as Fabiana, and Patricia Tamayo (“Amor en Custodia”) as Amanda.

“Sony Pictures Television is a leader in the emerging teleseries genre, offering exciting, gripping dramas with serialized elements that resonate with viewers,” explains Angélica Guerra, senior vice president and managing director, production, Latin America and U.S. Hispanic for SPT. “‘En la Boca del Lobo’ is an epic story of corruption and redemption that we know will keep audiences coming back for more.”

“There is a strong appetite for cutting-edge original teleseries across Latin America,” says Alexander Marin, senior vice president, distribution, Latin America and U.S. Hispanic for SPT. “‘En la Boca del Lobo’ is a high-caliber production much like ‘El Mariachi’ and ‘Metástasis,’ so we are already seeing substantial interest from buyers across the region.”
“En la Boca del Lobo” is the latest SPT-commissioned project for Latin American audiences following “El Mariachi” and “Metástasis,” the adaptation of the award-winning series “Breaking Bad.”
