Los Gutierrez Latest Title From Scripted Formats Industry Leader
MIAMI, FL (January 28, 2014)— Sony Pictures Television (SPT) and América Televisión del Peru have announced today that they will bring “The Jeffersons,” one of television’s most prolific comedies, to audiences in Peru. “Los Gutierrez” is the latest adaptation of the hit comedy by SPT, a pioneer and industry leader in scripted formats, and the second for Latin America.
Based on the Emmy Award-winning comedy series that ran in the U.S. for eleven seasons, “Los Gutierrez” follows an entrepreneurial businessman and his wife as they leave their middle-class surroundings and move to a spacious high rise apartment in the city. In their new home they are surrounded by a variety of unconventional neighbors, not to mention their own sassy live-in maid who likes to keep the family patriarch thinking on his feet.

“The Jeffersons” is the latest comedy to be adapted by SPT, whose portfolio of successful local productions includes “Married…with Children” in 12 territories including Argentina and Israel, “Everybody Loves Raymond” in five territories including the Middle East and Russia, “The King of Queens” in Bulgaria and Russia, as well as “I Dream of Jeannie” in India. The studio also recently produced the adaptation of the smash hit, Emmy-winning U.S. drama “Breaking Bad” for Spanish-speaking audiences across Latin America.
