Constructed Reality Series Set To Premiere April 2014

SÃO PAULO, Brazil – Sony Pictures Television (SPT) today announced its joint venture production company Floresta will produce the constructed reality series “Young Doctors” for audiences in Brazil. 20 episodes of the daily half-hour series have been commissioned by cable and satellite network Multishow to premiere in April 2014.

“Young Doctors” follows the frenetic daily routine of five physicians-in-training inside a real hospital. Each episode contains three storylines filled with drama, mystery and suspense as the doctors are challenged to diagnose and treat perplexing diseases and take on controversial cases. The series features the real-life stories of doctors and patients that have been adapted and enhanced for television.

“As constructed reality continues to grow in popularity, we are invested in developing compelling and ambitious projects like ‘Young Doctors’ that push the boundaries of this unique genre,” said Elisabetta Zenatti, general manager, Floresta. “By seamlessly blending drama and reality, this innovative new series offers viewers an authentic look inside a real hospital and the exciting and dramatic stories of its young doctors and their patients.”

“Young Doctors” is the latest Floresta production for Multishow, following the conclusion of the music competition series “Star Factory.” Floresta also recently completed production on “Miss Brazil” for Band TV, as well as “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil” for Globo.
