CULVER CITY, CA (August 6, 2013) —Rachel Mizuno has been promoted to senior vice president, marketing, US distribution for Sony Pictures Television (SPT), it was announced today by Sheraton Kalouria, executive vice president & chief marketing officer, SPT, to whom she reports.

In this position, Mizuno is responsible all marketing efforts in support of SPT’s first-run and off-net syndication, SVOD, cable and broadcast sales businesses.  This includes overseeing affiliate marketing, media strategy, consumer marketing and promotional campaigns.

“Rachel’s rich experience in the television industry and her commitment to innovation are key to our marketing efforts,” says Kalouria.  “Her deep understanding of the US broadcast syndication business and her exceptional affiliate relationships will help SPT achieve its business goals.”

A 19 year veteran of the television industry, Mizuno started her career working for KSBW-TV/Monterey and KSBY-TV/San Luis Obispo.  She eventually moved to Los Angeles where she worked in sales for Columbia Tristar Television Distribution.  In 1998, Mizuno began working on The Donny & Marie Show in station relations and was soon promoted to director, affiliate marketing and later executive director, affiliate marketing.  Most recently, Mizuno served as vice president, marketing where she oversaw SPT’s affiliate marketing department and developed and managed promotion and media plans for over 1200 television stations in top markets for syndicated programming.  Additionally, she oversaw prominent consumer campaigns for syndicated fare such as The Dr. Oz Show, Seinfeld and for the upcoming The Queen Latifah Show, which launches in September.
