SONY PICTURES TELEVISION NETWORKS TO DEBUT AXN BLACK AND AXN WHITE IN CENTRAL EUROPE

Budapest, 12 July 2013. Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Networks is to launch local language versions of AXN Black and AXN White in Central Europe. The new channels will appear across Central Europe from October this year, covering Poland, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Slovakia.

AXN White will offer scripted series from the US and Europe, with character-driven, inspiring stories during primetime, such as The Client List and Grand Hotel, and feature films like Eat Pray Love.  The early afternoons will offer engaging, long-running series such as More than Anything, Life Lines and Heartland.

AXN Black will offer faster-paced action across both scripted and unscripted genres, with a focus on hero-led programming. Series will include Spartacus, No Limit (Luc Besson) and Justified. The non-scripted line-up, playing out in primetime, access-prime and weekends, will include titles such as Black Gold, Duck Commander and Hero

“We’re thrilled to introduce two new AXN branded channels for Central Europe. The move reflects our commitment to providing the very best products and content to meet the demands of cable operators and audiences. This latest addition significantly expands our offer with fast-paced action heroes on AXN Black and inspiring, character-led story telling on AXN White.” said John Rossiter, general manager, SPT Networks, Central Europe.

AXN Black and AXN White will replace AXN Sci-Fi and AXN Crime in Central Europe, incorporating the best sci-fi and crime series from those channels into their schedules alongside their newly expanded programming offer. The new channels join AXN and AXN Spin as part of SPT Networks Central European portfolio offered in nine languages.
