Japan

In 2005, the Japanese government launched a national campaign called Team Minus 6 Percent to help achieve the county's greenhouse gas reduction target by 2012 under the Kyoto Protocol. As a result, the country has been following a variety of environmentally friendly practices -- setting air conditioners to 28 degrees Celsius, avoiding water waste by not letting the tap run unnecessarily, choosing to buy sustainable products, saying no to excess packaging, turning off cars instead of letting them sit idling, and unplugging electronic devices when not in use. Picture This will continue the campaign's efforts by highlighting their success as well as offering additional everyday tips to make even more progress.
