Sony Pictures Television has taken a minority stake in Fable Pictures, the U.K. film and television production company run by Creative Director Faye Ward and Managing Director Eugenio Perez. Fable develops and produces high-end drama series with SPT distributing globally.
Faye Ward is one of the UK’s most prominent young producers. Most recently she produced ‘Suffragette’ for Pathe, Film4 and the BFI starring Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, Brendan Gleeson, Anne Marie-Duff and Meryl Streep, and was part of the producers team on upcoming drama series ‘The Crown’ for Netflix and Left Bank Pictures.
The first film to shoot from their slate will be the feature film ‘Stan and Ollie’ written by Jeff Pope and directed by Jon S. Baird, which BBC Films and eOne are fully financing. Fable’s slate includes four-part mini series ‘Saint Mazie’ with Helena Bonham Carter starring & producing, based on the novel by Jami Attenberg and adapted by Clara Brennan, and many other projects with a roster of British talent including, Sarah Gavron, Abi Morgan, Yann Demange, Marianne Elliot and Moira Buffini.
