Int. Distribution, Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada
Alexander Marin is executive vice president of international distribution for Latin America, the Caribbean, and Canada for Sony Pictures Television (SPT). Based in Miami, he responsible for managing and growing SPT's distribution activity across these territories, as well as the U.S. Hispanic market, leading all film, television and formats licensing negotiations for SPT across broadcast and digital platforms, as well as SVOD. Marin reports to Keith LeGoy, president, worldwide distribution for SPE.
Previously, Marin was senior vice president, distribution, Latin America and the Caribbean, overseeing distribution of SPT content across all platforms and windows throughout the Spanish-speaking Latin American and U.S. Hispanic markets, as well as Brazil.
Marin was based at SPT's European headquarters in London from 2007 to 2009, where as vice president of distribution he was responsible for sales across Northern Europe. Prior to that, as general manager, he was based out of SPT's office in Mexico City and was responsible for the sales of Sony Pictures' film and television product to broadcasters in northern Latin America. Marin was also responsible for supervising the commercial aspects of SPT's television productions in Mexico and the development of digital delivery strategies.
Before joining SPT, Marin was executive director of marketing and on-air for Fox's Latin American channels, based in Los Angeles. He also held the role of director of sales at Turner International at its Mexico City office.
Marin holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and international relations from Tufts University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
