Marie Jacobson serves as executive vice president, programming and production for Sony Pictures Television Networks. Based at Sony Pictures’ headquarters in Culver City, California, Jacobson is charged with the overall programming and production of all Sony-owned and operated channel investments. She oversees program and format acquisitions, original series production, program development and program planning for the group. She is responsible for the strategic programming and brand direction for all new linear and digital network ventures as well as producing and acquiring the highest-caliber Sony Pictures and third-party programming.

In addition to spearheading Sony Pictures Television Networks’ global original series development like Absentia, Carter,Hannibaland Crossing Lines, Jacobson has acquired and adapted the format rights to many of the industry's top scripted and unscripted series for broadcast across Sony’s worldwide linear and digital networks. Jacobson's team has led the production management and local execution of numerous local-language versions of homegrown and third party formats such as Top Chef, Shark Tank, The Amazing RaceNext Top ModelBig BrotherCash CabMinute To Win It; Los Caballeros Las Prefieren BrutasPop IdolYo Soy BettyLa Fea; and Dancing With The Stars.

Jacobson previously served as senior vice president, programming and production, international networks, since 2003. Prior to that she was senior vice president, programming, international networks, since 2000.

Prior to joining SPT, Jacobson served as chief executive officer of TV1, the FOXTEL - AUSTAR Pay-TV channel partnership of Sony, Universal and CBS Paramount in Australia. She assumed the CEO position after serving as the channel's head of programming and acquisitions. Before TV1, Jacobson served as director, programming and special projects for Comedy Central in New York. She joined Comedy Central as manager, program planning and scheduling. Jacobson also held positions at Columbia TriStar Television Distribution (now Sony Pictures Television) in Los Angeles, including manager, sales administration, and analyst, television research. Jacobson's career began as a television research associate for Paramount Domestic Television in Los Angeles.

Jacobson graduated from UCLA with a BA in history and business.
